Slate 2015 Contributing Artists ★

The Slate Planner is already half a decade old! We’ve traveled a mighty long way from Slate just being an idea, to becoming an actual publication, to what it is today. So much has changed, yet some things have stayed the same. With the upcoming 5th edition, the Slate Team wants to continue showcasing visual works of notable artists from different parts of the world in hopes of inspiring you to live creatively. Get to know the Contributing Artists who have generously shared a piece of their brilliance in the Slate 2015 Planner




TIMOTHY GOODMAN Based in: New York City Website: Instagram: Projects: 40 Days of Dating, #quotesonshit Timothy Goodman is a NYC-based designer, illustrator, art director, and content creator. He currently runs his own studio, working for clients such as Airbnb, J.Crew, MoMA, The New Yorker, and The New York Times. He has received awards from most major design & illustration publications, including the Art Directors Club Young Guns award, and Print magazine’s “New Visual Artist”. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, where he now teaches. You may know Timothy Goodman from 40 Days of Dating – the dating experiment turned website that drew in over 5 million unique visitors to the site. Guess which one of our favorite authors he created a typography work of in the Slate 2015 Planner.


PaulinaPaigeOrtegaPAULINA PAIGE ORTEGA Based in: Singapore Website: Instagram: Paulina Ortega is a Filipino designer, illustrator, art director based in Singapore. Her work in the field of design has made its little way to being published in the Philippines, Singapore, and New York City, among others. In the last few years, she has developed concepts for brands like Häagen-Dazs, Samsung, Barbie, the Ayala group and Star Trek. She currently works in a boutique creative firm and spends her spare time traveling, playing with paint, and contributing to various publications. Collaborate with her by continuing the awesome watercolor spread she has contributed for Slate 2015!



VANESSA AUGUSTIN Based in: California Website: Instagram: Projects:, Vanessa Augustin is the owner and Executive Producer of Off The Boat Productions, a creative media company specializing in video production and graphics. She also works as a Freelance Set Dresser on commercials, shorts, and features, collaborating with production designers, and art directors in the film industry. During her spare time, she manages a small online shop called Mugaholics where she incorporates doodles in designing ceramic mugs.


Daryl FerilDARYL FERIL Based in: Bacolod City, Philippines Website: Instagram: Projects: illustrated cover for Preview’s April issue, solo exhibit in House of Frida, Bacolod, packaging illustration for Secret Garden Yunnan Daryl is an independent illustrator, artist & designer based Bacolod, Philippines. His body of work ranges from fashion illustration, packaging & product graphics in both traditional & digital media. He has produced works for clients such as: LVMH’s travel retailer DFS Galleria, Ecoya, Lee Jeans, Tory Burch, Preview Magazine & Walt Disney Southeast Asia and various design studios such as: AR New York, Story Worldwide London, Kult 3d & Bloom Miami. His work has been featured in numerous publications here and abroad. He won the Bronze Award in the Best Design, Illustration Category during the most recent Adobo Design Awards 2014 held in Manila, and was considered one of the 150 Emerging Talents in Art, Design, Illustration & Photography: ASIAN CREATIVES by Ubies, Tokyo   2014.


Iori EspirituIORI ESPIRITU Based in: Quezon City, Philippines Website:, Instagram: Iori is an aspiring ceramic artist and freelance illustrator. She is one-fifth of Speculiars, a group of craft artist with a knack for the handmade and peculiar. She is currently experimenting with clay, making all sorts of things from mugs to jewelry to organic forms.



Leemour PelliLEEMOUR PELLI Based in: New York City Website: Based in New York, Leemour had her first solo exhibition at the Daneyal Mahmood Gallery in New York. Her other recent solo exhibitions include two at the Annina Nosei Gallery in New York in 2004 and 2005, and in 2003 at the Art Gallery of the University of Central Florida in Orlando. The University also published a catalogue, and produced a mini-documentary about the artist and her work. Her work explores the nature of reality and contemporary existence. It reflects on social and psychological aspects of interrelationships, within the context of perception, sensory-based experiences, and the human condition.
