What’s Inside Your February JuiceBox?

FRAME YOUR TYPE

Today, calligraphy may also be done using a pen, but in our honest opinion, pen calligraphy does not enjoy the same prestige as traditional brush calligraphy.

But then again, creating your own typography artwork totally depends on your style. With this JuiceBox, we’re providing you with ink and brushes to render your personal mantras and create your personal typography prints!

1. CHINESE INK (alternatively called India Ink)

This ink was used in both ancient Egypt and China and became a standard for writing and printing in the 20th century. You can create strong (opaque) to translucent shades with this ink. Temper with water. The more water, the lighter the shade of the ink.

 2. CHINESE BRUSH #181

This medium-sized Chinese artist’s brush is for large strokes and lettering.

3. ISU GOAT FUR BRUSH #1

For those minute details and small lines and corners, use this pointed brush for more precise strokes.

4. ETERNA PURE BRISTLE ARTIST BRUSH

If you want to add background color or other illustrations to your work, you can use this round artist brush for wash, fills, and thin or thick lines.

5. 8×10 RECTANGULAR FRAME

After you create your personal typographic print, make sure to preserve your work by framing it. This way, you’ll be reminded of your mantras in a very personal way. Don’t forget to let the art print totally dry before framing! You don’t want moisture inside the frame.

You can do several typography works with your favorite quotes and change the content of your frame every so often. You can keep them for yourself as daily inspiration or give it as a personal gift to that special friend.
