Celebrate International Museum Day 2012!

According to the International Council of Museums (ICOM), every year since 1977 International Museum Day is organised worldwide around May 18. This day is an occasion to raise awareness on how important museums are in the development of society. ICOM Advisory Committee organises the theme of this event that, given the high number of countries involved, lasts a day, a weekend, a week or even a month.

In celebration of this worldwide (supercool!) event, our local museums, Ayala Museum and The Mind Museum, will have free or discounted admission on that special day! Check out the deets:

1. Ayala Museum

Ayala Museum will be open to visitors and museum-enthusiasts for free on May 18. Visit the ground to fourth floor galleries during museum hours from 10 am to 7 pm, and experience their fascinating collections on history, art, and heritage.

2. Mind Museum

Mind Museum will have special science events from 9am to 6pm such as:

Make your own compost with earthworms or learn basic robot building!

A day in the life of a scientist.

Cool prizes await winners!

In lieu of this, it will offer all sorts of admission packages and passes to celebrate the special day. Packages and all day passes include:
