Creative Inspiration: Children’s Book Illustrators!
There’s something about cracking open a children’s book and reading it for the first time. Children’s books always bring a smile to my face and I always find and take inspiration from them.
Some people adults love novels, fiction and or graphic novels…me? I LOVE CHILDREN’S BOOKS! I have a collection of them at home from all over the world. It’s the only pasalubong I ask from my friends when they travel.
[Fact: If I'm not in the office, you'd probably see me in bookstores in the Children's section.]
When I was a kid, my brothers and I had bookshelves of Dr. Seuss (correctly pronounced as “soys”) and Eric Carle books! Every night, I’d devour a different book and turn it’s pages sometimes paying attention more to the illustrations than the words (not that I can’t read or anything). I like making the illustrations move in my imagination as if it was a movie.
Let’s just say children’s book writers and illustrators are my heroes: Maurice Sendak, Shel Silverstein and Eric Carle are my all-time favorites! So today, please let me share with you 3 brilliant Children’s book illustrators that you can take inspiration from (aside from those I had just mentioned):
